DARK ABYSS

Halloween Electronic Music Party Poster

The poster for Dark Abyss 暗黑電洞 is designed for an all-night electronic music party held around Halloween. The title plays with a Mandarin pun — replacing "電音" (electronic music) with "電洞" (electric hole) — to evoke a sonic black hole that pulls the audience deep into its hypnotic rhythm.

Instead of leaning on Western Halloween tropes, the visual narrative reimagines horror through a uniquely Taiwanese lens. A demonic figure blends elements of traditional Taoist exorcism and local temple culture — such as talismans, prayer beads, and ceremonial robes — with Western devilish iconography, creating a hybrid mythic character that both invites and unnerves.

The exaggerated facial features, neon palette, and symmetrical composition echo the overwhelming, immersive nature of both religious ritual and electronic music — two forms of trance in different cultural guises. The overall aesthetic is bold, surreal, and joyfully dark, mirroring the energy of the event itself.
